It was a privilege to take part in this interview with Manx Wildlife Trust.

They asked MHK candidates across the Island about our environment, climate, biodiversity and what we can do to protect our incredible Biosphere Island.

These are issues I genuinely care about. I’m proud to be Manx, and one of the things I love most about living here is being able to enjoy our countryside, coastline and wildlife with my family.

In my answers, I talked about some of the practical things I believe we should be doing — from restoring biodiversity and supporting nature-friendly farming, to making better use of our UNESCO Biosphere status, improving environmental education and looking seriously at 30 by 30.

But for me, this isn’t about making grand promises. It’s about actually getting things done.

We have a fantastic natural environment here, and I want us to protect it while also finding ways for it to benefit our communities, our health and our economy.

Manx Wildlife Trust have now published the responses from candidates across the Island, so have a read and see what we’ve all had to say.

You can read the full article here.

Thank you to Manx Wildlife Trust for giving candidates the opportunity to set out our views — and for all the work you do to protect the Island we’re lucky enough to call home.
